How to Convert Treble Clef to Alto Clef
If you have music written low on the treble clef, you might want to convert it to alto clef for a viola or other instruments with a similar range, such as viola da gamba or alto trombone. You must convert each note individually, following the steps below. If you note the location of middle C on the treble clef and the alto clef, you will begin to understand the relationship between the clefs. Middle C on the treble clef is the line below the staff, while middle C on the alto clef is the third line.
