How to Design a Musician Sell Sheet

Making a musician sell sheet is a creative way to display your talents and specialties as an artist. Sell sheets are similar to brochures in many respects. The main distinction is that a sell sheet is only one page -- single or double sided -- as opposed to a multi-page brochure. The purpose of both sell sheets and brochures is to attract your readers' attention and get them to want more detailed information, according to My Professional Advertising. Because of their limited physical space, sell sheets must display only the most important aspects of your musicianship.

Instructions

    • 1

Format the sheet using the top quarter of the sheet for your title, the next half of the sheet to highlight your services and to include an image and the bottom quarter for your contact information. Experiment with several layouts until you are confident in a design.

    • 2

Create a large and colorful header with the title of the service you are selling -- one-on-one music lessons, for example. Employ block letters with a clear font in all your copy writing. Detail five solid and succinct points with consideration to who your audience is and why the reader needs your service. Note any current deals or sales.

    • 3

Include one to two high-resolution photographs. Place your image in the middle of the page -- off-center to the right or off-center near the lower right corner. An off-center image allows the eye to naturally glide from left to right -- beginning with absorption of the text. Include photographs pertinent only to your services.

Add your contact information. Include a direct phone line, fax number, street (or mailing address) and website or email.
