How do you make a simple piano model with cardboard and wood?

### Gather the following materials:

* Cardboard box (with a sturdy lid)

* Wood (1x4s or other thin pieces)

* Hot glue gun

* Craft knife or scissors

* Ruler or tape measure

* Pencil

* Paint (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the cardboard box

1. Cut the lid off the cardboard box.

2. Cut a rectangle out of the front of the box, about 1/3 of the way down from the top. This will be the opening for the keyboard.

3. Cut two slits in the top of the box, near the back. These will be used to insert the wooden bars that will act as the piano keys.

Step 2: Create the wooden keys

1. Cut the wood into thin pieces, about 1/2-inch wide and 12-inches long.

2. Sand the edges of the wood pieces smooth.

3. Hot glue the wood pieces into the slits in the top of the box. Make sure they are spaced evenly.

Step 3: Decorate the piano

1. Paint the piano any color you like.

2. Add stickers, glitter, or other decorations to personalize it.

Step 4: Play the piano!

1. Use your fingers to press down on the wooden keys.
