Marine Raiders: The Marine Raiders, officially the Marine Raider Regiment (MRR), are the Marine Corps' special operations force which serves as USSOCOM's ground warfare component. Comprising roughly 2,500 active duty personnel, Marines and Sailors, the MRR is headquartered at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and consists of three subordinate battalions which focus on different mission sets.
Force Reconnaissance Companies (FORECON): FORECON is a special reconnaissance unit within the Marine Corps. FORECON Marines are trained in reconnaissance and surveillance techniques, and are often used to gather intelligence on enemy forces.
Special Operations Training Group (SOTG): SOTG is responsible for training Marine Corps personnel for special operations missions. The group provides training in areas such as demolitions, advanced weapons, and survival.
Special Operations Command, Pacific (SOCPAC): SOCPAC is a subunified command of USSOCOM that is responsible for conducting special operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The command is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, and includes multiple Marine Corps units, such as the Marine Raiders and FORECON.
In addition to these units, the Marine Corps also provides personnel to other USSOCOM units, such as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) and the 75th Ranger Regiment.
