What is the national flag and anthem?

The national flag of India is a horizontal tricolor of deep saffron (kesari) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom.

The white band includes a navy blue wheel with 24 spokes which is known as the Ashoka Chakra. The flag is based on the Swaraj flag, a flag of the Indian National Congress designed by Pingali Venkayya. It was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947, a few days before India's independence on 15 August 1947. The flag is composed of three horizontal bars: saffron, located at the top, signifying courage and sacrifice white, placed in the middle, depicting peace and devotion green, which is at the bottom, representing faith and chivalry

The National Anthem of India, composed originally in Bengali. The poem composed became very popular and was sung in meetings of the Indian National Congress. On December 27, 1911, this song, with slight modifications , came to be formally accepted as our National Anthem
