Nirvana is an American rock band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. The band was composed of Kurt Cobain (lead vocals/guitar), Krist Novoselic (bass), and Dave Grohl (drums). Nirvana reached international fame with their second studio album, Nevermind, released in 1991. The album featured the hit singles "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come as You Are", and "Lithium". Nirvana's success continued with their third and final studio album, In Utero, released in 1993. The band disbanded in 1994 following Cobain's suicide.
