Facts About the Warped Tour

The Warped Tour is an annual music and extreme-sport festival held in various open-lawn areas throughout the world. The music featured here leans more towards punk and alternative rock, though recent incarnations of the festival have chosen to include acts that fit into a variety of different genres. BMX biking and skateboarding are also features here.
  1. Geography

    • The first Warped Tour happened in 1995, and the event spread into international locations in 1998 and 1999. Since then, however, it has been confined to the United States and Canada.

    Bands

    • The Warped Tour has at least 100 bands in its lineup that play approximately 30-minute sets across about 10 stages that are erected across the festival lawn.

    Extreme Sports

    • A half-pipe is erected in addition to stages for the bands to play on. Here, popular and amateur BMX bikers and skateboarders perform tricks for the crowd.

    Flea Market

    • Multiple tents are set up throughout the festival. Here, bands, non-profit organizations and sponsors sell products and merchandise.

    Target

    • The target audience of the warped tour is teenagers, which is why headline acts generally include a number of new bands. This has sparked controversy with people who believe the tour has become too commercialized.
