Set up your equipment. Put your mixer in-between the two turntables. Place the laptop in front of your equipment; it is ideal for it to have its own table for placement. Position your speakers on the right and left side of your equipment. Place the headphones onto your ears, making sure they fit comfortably.
Place both copies of the record onto the turntables. Set the pitch on the deck to 0. You will know it is set to 0 when you see a green light come on. Next, set the mixer with the channel faders and the cross fader to the middle positions. This allows you to hear both albums playing on the turntables. Press start on the first turntable.
Place the needle of one turntable onto the album. Place your finger on the record, and move the record in a counterclockwise fashion just until you pass the starting beat you heard first. With the same finger, move the album back and forth repeatedly from the starting position to the ending position. Press stop, however, to leave the needle in the resting position.
While the second turntable is playing, return to the first turntable and listen to the first album, paying close attention to the bass beats to get a rhythm pattern. Put your finger on the album to hold it in place, and press start on the second deck.
Turn the first turntable on and let it play. Alternate stopping and starting the turntables at the beats you want to mix. Each turntable that is stopped, you will just place a finger on the album to hold it in place and flip the switch before removing your finger on the second turntable.
