Connect your playback sources to the DJ mixer. Insert one end of an RCA cable into the color-coded audio output ports on each of your playback sources, such as turntables or decks. Insert the other ends of the RCA cables into the DJ mixer’s corresponding audio input ports.
Insert the TRS plug on your headphones into the DJ mixer’s “Headphone” port. This port may be marked with a headphone-shaped icon instead of text.
Cue your audio on each audio source so that its music is ready to play as you wish when you push the “Play” button while mixing.
Play both audio sources simultaneously. Do not worry about disharmonious playback at this point.
Slide the DJ mixer’s crossfader lever completely toward one audio source. While both audio sources will play in your headphones, only the deck on the corresponding side of the crossfader will play out through your speakers, provided you have connected any.
Listen to the other audio source’s playback through your headphones, as it will not play through the speakers. Consider this your monitor-only audio source until you move the crossfader again.
Line up the audio sources’ playback as desired. Slide the monitor-only source’s pitch adjust lever up or down to increase or decrease its speed until both sources’ playbacks match in time, if you are using turntables. Otherwise, use the rewind and fast-forward seek and scan to align the playback.
Slide the DJ mixer’s crossfader level completely toward the audio source whose playback you have been monitoring. Doing so renders the alternate audio source as monitor-only. Slide the DJ mixer’s crossfader handle over quickly if you desire an abrupt transition. Otherwise, slide the DJ mixer’s crossfader handle slowly to perform a blend mix, whereas the speakers’ audio output gradually fades from one audio source playback to the other.
