The Corpus Christi noise ordinance can be found in Chapter 14 of the City Code. The ordinance sets noise limits for different times of day and different areas of the city. The noise limits are as follows:
* Residential areas:
* 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.: 55 dBA
* 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.: 45 dBA
* Commercial areas:
* 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.: 65 dBA
* 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.: 55 dBA
* Industrial areas:
* 24 hours a day: 75 dBA
The noise ordinance also includes provisions for special events, such as construction projects and concerts. For these events, the noise limits may be different than the limits listed above.
If you believe that someone is violating the noise ordinance, you can file a complaint with the Corpus Christi Police Department. The police will investigate the complaint and may issue a citation if the noise ordinance has been violated.
