Instructions

  1. Construction

    • 1

Measure and mark plywood to create a square or rectangle of a size suitable for your space. Larger rooms will need larger panels than small rooms. For a normal living room-sized area, panels should be about 2-by-2 or 2-by-4 feet. Large practice spaces can accomodate 4-by-4-foot squares or 4-by-8-foot rectangles.

    • 2

Cut plywood according to your measurements.

    • 3

Measure carpet to be 6 inches longer than cut plywood on each side.

    • 4

Place carpet on a firm suface pile side down. Cut carpet with utility knife according to your measurements.

    • 5

Center plywood square on top of carpet square.

    • 6

Staple edges of carpet onto the plywood. Place staples about 3 inches apart.

    • 7

Screw the finished panel to the wall. Place screws in each corner, then every 6 inches. Screw into studs, not just sheetrock, if possible.

    • 8
