Located in the heart of downtown Boise, Berryhill & Co. is a high-end restaurant with a comfortable lounge area. The lounge features nightly piano music from a variety of pianists. On Sundays the music begins at 5:30 p.m., and every other day it begins at 6 p.m. The atmosphere and sound allow for casual conversation, as well as relaxing to the live melodies. In downtown Boise on part of The Grove Hotel's first floor is the fine dining restaurant Emelio's. Just off of the main restaurant is the lobby bar, which features a pianist every night to accompany the lounge-style atmosphere. There are a variety of comfortable seating arrangements, with song styles ranging from classical to jazz. The lounge offers ordering from the restaurant's full menu, and a fireplace to add to the ambiance. You do not have to be a guest at The Grove Hotel to take advantage of this piano bar.
The nightly dueling piano players at Bull's Head Pub offer a much more interactive approach to the piano bar scene. Bull's Head has two stories, with the dueling pianos on the top floor. They do a much more robust show, with the patrons able to shout out requests, as well as getting into high-paced piano "battles" where they attempt to outdo one another. The atmosphere is extremely casual and wildly boisterous.
The Owyhee Plaza Hotel has a lounge on-site called the "Gamekeeper Lounge," which features a pianist on the weekends. The music played is mostly jazz, with the occasional saxophonist accompanying the pianist. The lounge offers a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, with hors d'oeuvres and drink specials nightly. You do not need to be a guest of the hotel in order to visit the Gamekeeper Lounge.
