- XM and Sirius radio receivers OR an XM or Sirius radio receiver with a built-in FM transmitter
- RCA cables
- FM antenna (if your receiver does not have a built-in FM transmitter)
- 3.5mm auxiliary cable
- Power adapters
Once you have gathered all of the necessary equipment, follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect XM Radio
1. Ensure that your XM receiver is powered off.
2. Connect one end of an RCA cable to XM receiver’s left “Audio Out” jack and the other end to your “Audio In” jack on the stereo.
3. Connect the second RCA cable to the receiver’s right “Audio Out” jack and the other end to the “Audio In” jack.
Step 2: Connect the power adapter
Plug the power adapter into your XM radio receiver and the other end into an outlet.
Step 3: Connect the FM Antenna(only for radio with no built-in FM transmitter)
- For the radios without a built-in FM transmitter and using the RCA cables, you need an FM antenna. Connect one end of your antenna to your stereo’s “FM Antenna” jack and the other end to a high place for better signal reception.
Step 4: Listen to XM Radio
- Select “FM” on your stereo and tune to the FM frequency displayed on the XM radio receiver. For instance, if it displays 89.50, tune your stereo to 89.50FM. You may need to select mono.
- Power on your XM receiver and press the channel selector buttons to listen to your favorite channels.
Step 5: Connect Sirius Radio
- Turn off the Sirius radio.
- Connect the 3.5mm cable between the Sirius radio and an available “AUX In” jack on your home stereo.
- Plug in your Sirius radio.
- Tune your home stereo to the “AUX” or relevant input setting.
- Use the power button to turn on the radio, then select the channel of interest.
That should be it! You should now be able to enjoy XM and Sirius radio programming through your home stereo system. If you have any further questions, feel free to consult the user manuals for your specific XM and Sirius radio receivers.
