Do you need to wire the dimmer illumination if your new radio dont have it?

If your new radio does not have a dimmer illumination wire, you will need to wire it yourself in order to use the dimmer function on your vehicle's dashboard. Here are the steps on how to do it:

1. Gather your materials. You will need:

* A wiring harness for your new radio

* A multimeter

* Wire strippers

* Electrical tape

* A drill

* A screwdriver

2. Identify the dimmer illumination wire on your vehicle's wiring harness. This wire is typically black with a white stripe.

3. Tap into the dimmer illumination wire. Use the wire strippers to strip off a small section of the insulation on the dimmer illumination wire. Then, twist the exposed wire around the dimmer illumination wire on your radio's wiring harness. Solder the wires together and wrap them in electrical tape.

4. Test the dimmer illumination. Turn on your vehicle and headlights. The dimmer illumination on your radio should now work when you adjust the brightness of your dashboard lights.

5. Secure the wiring. Use the drill and screwdriver to secure the wiring harness to your vehicle's dashboard.

Here are some additional tips for wiring the dimmer illumination:

* Make sure that the connections are secure. Loose connections can cause problems with the dimmer illumination.

* Use electrical tape to insulate the connections. This will help to prevent shorts and other electrical problems.

* Test the dimmer illumination before you secure the wiring. This will ensure that it is working properly.

If you are not comfortable wiring the dimmer illumination yourself, you can take your vehicle to a professional installer.
