How to Find Song Titles of Artists

Finding the song titles of a music artist is relatively easy. In fact, if you have even a line of lyric, or know the song title but not the artist, the information can be easily obtained online.

Using your computer's web browser, get connected to the Internet. From here you have two options: 1) A random search using your favorite search engine, which is hit-and-miss; or 2) using a site designed to search specifically for music-related data. Option one requires that you only enter the artist's name (in quotes) and hope you find his/her web page with a discography. Option two, being the more direct route, will be discussed here.

Type www.lyrics.com into your web browser and hit the "Enter" key. The website will open.

    • 3

Type your search word (or words) into the site's "Search" bar or box, and hit "Enter" again. The search term could be either the artist's name or a key line from the song. A list of possible titles will come up.

Note: Sometimes, one or more other artists may have "covered" (recorded) the same song recorded by the original artist, or there may be different songs with the same title.

Scroll through the possibilities until you find the likely match, then click on the line. The song's lyrics will be displayed. If it's the right song, you should have all the information you need; the artist is listed above the lyrics and below the title of the song.

If it's not what you're looking for, hit the "Back" button and try another listing. Or you can always start your search again by entering a different word or words in the site's "Search" bar.

If finding what you were looking for piques your curiosity--about the song, the artist, the year the song was recorded, etc.--use the site to find more information.
