Are Jay-Z and 50 Cent friends or enemies?

Enemies

They have been involved in a long-running feud that has included diss tracks, public statements, and legal disputes. The feud began in 2001 when 50 Cent made disparaging remarks about Jay-Z's clothing line, Rocawear. Jay-Z responded with the diss track "Takeover" on his 2001 album The Blueprint. The feud continued with 50 Cent releasing more diss tracks and making public statements about Jay-Z. In 2004, the feud escalated when 50 Cent's G-Unit Records filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z's Rocawear for allegedly stealing clothing designs. The lawsuit was eventually settled out of court. In 2005, 50 Cent released the diss track "Piggy Bank" on his album The Massacre. The track contained lyrics that disrespected Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce. Jay-Z responded by not mentioning 50 Cent's name in any of his songs, interviews, or public appearances. The feud has continued over the years with 50 Cent making public statements about Jay-Z, while Jay-Z has mostly ignored him.
