The Police were a British rock band formed in London in 1977. The band consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums). The Police became one of the most successful bands of the 1980s, with five UK number one singles and six Grammy Awards. Their music combined elements of rock, reggae, punk and new wave. The Police disbanded in 1984, but reunited for a world tour in 2007.
