Why is Bruce band called the E-Street band?

The E Street Band is not Bruce's band, but rather the backing band for Bruce Springsteen. The name E Street comes from the neighbourhood in Belmar, New Jersey, where some of the members of the band lived together in a shared house on E Street. The band has been Springsteen's backing band for over 40 years.
