How to Tell What Has Been on the Billboard Chart

Billboard magazine tracks the weekly sales and radio plays of music releases. It publishes this information in the form of weekly charts, which radio stations and record stores can use to determine which music their listeners and customers want to hear and buy. Billboard divides its charts into categories: The "Billboard 200" lists the 200 best-selling albums of the week, while the "Hot 100" ranks single songs by their popularity on the radio. More specialized charts rank country, jazz and other genres. You can access the Billboard charts through the company's website.
