Write a business letter on official company letterhead. Use one-inch margins all around and left-justified paragraphs that align on the left side of the page. Type your name, work title, company address, phone number, fax number and email address.
State your interest in joining the Venue Sales Program, and indicate how long your company has existed. Nielsen SoundScan requires all applicants to be in business a minimum of two years. Make a list of the musical artists for whom you want to report sales.
Fax the letter to the attention of Andrea Wynn, the representative in charge of the Venue Sales Program enrollment as of the time of publication. The fax number is 646-654-7450. You can also email the letter to Venue@soundscan.com, using Andrea Wynn's name in the subject heading. After your letter is received, you will be sent title addition sheets.
Review the SoundScan title addition sheets. You must use a separate form for each music title you want to report.
Write the title, release date and the name of the music artist. Provide your parent label name, distribution company and sub label, if applicable.
Provide the UPC code of the CD or DVD you want to report, the unit price and the configuration type, which includes CD album, DVD, CD single and DVD.
Select the genre of music. Choices include R&B, country, jazz, rock, gospel, classical and rap.
Enter your name, phone number, fax number and email address. Fax the title addition sheet to 914-684-5606, which is current as of the time of publication. Sales are accepted during the week from Thursday through Wednesday. Sheets must be delivered by Friday at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to be included on that week's sales figures.
