Instructions

  1. Making Your Album: The Recording Process

    • 1

Find a space for recording where making noise will not be a problem. Finding a space where you can isolate instruments if need be is also important.

    • 2

Set up your laptop in the recording space. Turn on your laptop and open up the recording program you are going to use. Attach the M-Audio interface to your laptop. Make sure your laptop recognizes the interface by selecting the Preferences option from your recording programs menu.

    • 3

Set up your microphones in the recording space the way you would like them for recording each particular instrument. Attach the output ends of the microphone cables to your M-Audio Interface.

    • 4

Record your music, whether you are recording each instrument part individually or recording when playing all together at the same time as a band.

    • 5

When recording is completed, use the tools in your recording program to adjust levels and mix your instrument parts or music as a whole accordingly. Export your song in mp3 format to Itunes once mixing is completed.
