Is Avenged Sevenfold an Atheist band?

Avenged Sevenfold is not an atheist band. They have made references to God in their music and interviews. For example, in their song "God Hates Us," they sing, "God hates us all... He'll show you no mercy." In an interview, lead singer M. Shadows said, "I believe in God, but I don't believe in organized religion. I think religion is a man-made thing, and it's been used for a lot of evil in the past."
