How do you theBoot Boogie?

The "Boot Scootin' Boogie" is a line dance choreographed by country DJ Billy Ray Bates to Tracy Byrd's hit single of the same name in 1994. Here are the basic steps to perform the dance:

Starting Position:

1. Stand with your feet together and your arms by your sides.

Step 1 - Scootin' Left:

2. Step to the left with your left foot and slightly turn your feet outward.

3. Bring your right foot to meet your left foot, closing your feet together again.

Step 2 - Scootin' Right:

4. Step to the right with your right foot and slightly turn your feet outward.

5. Bring your left foot to meet your right foot, closing your feet together again.

Step 3 - Side Steps:

6. Step to the left with your left foot, cross your right foot behind your left ankle, and then bring your right foot back next to your left foot.

7. Step to the right with your right foot, cross your left foot behind your right ankle, and then bring your left foot back next to your right foot.

Step 4 - Scootin' Back:

8. Step back with your left foot and turn your toes inward slightly.

9. Bring your right foot to meet your left foot, stepping back together.

Step 5 - Scootin' Forward:

10. Step forward with your right foot and turn your toes inward slightly.

11. Bring your left foot to meet your right foot, stepping forward together.

Step 6 - Boot Scootin' Turn:

12. Hold hands with your partner, raise your joined hands over your heads, and turn left in a small circle.

13. Release hands and face your partner again at the end of the turn.

Repeat:

Repeat steps 1 through 6 until the music ends or as desired. You can add your flare or style to the line dance as you become more comfortable with the basic steps. Enjoy the Boot Scootin' Boogie!
