Why does DVD player hooked up via Y Pb Pr cables make screen red?

Reason 1: Incorrect cable connections

* Check that the Y, Pb, and Pr cables are properly connected to the corresponding jacks on both the DVD player and the TV. Make sure that the colors match (i.e., yellow to yellow, blue to blue, and red to red).

* Some DVD players have a switch to select between component video and composite video output. Make sure that the switch is set to component video.

Reason 2: Incompatible video format

* Check that the DVD player and the TV are set to the same video format (i.e., NTSC or PAL).

* Some DVD players have a switch to select between 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i output. Make sure that the switch is set to the same resolution as the TV.

Reason 3: Faulty cables or connectors

* Try replacing the Y, Pb, and Pr cables to check if they are the cause of the problem.

* Check the connectors on both the DVD player and the TV to make sure they are clean and free of damage.

Reason 4: TV settings

* Check that the TV is set to the correct input.

* Some TVs have a setting to adjust the color temperature. Try changing the color temperature to a warmer setting.
