JAG (Judge Advocate General) is a legal drama television series that aired on NBC from September 23, 1995, to April 29, 2005. The show follows the lives of lawyers in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). The main characters are Harmon Rabb, Jr. (played by David James Elliott), a former United States Marine Corps fighter pilot turned JAG lawyer, and Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie (played by Catherine Bell), a former civilian attorney who joins the JAG Corps.
JAG follows the lawyers as they investigate and prosecute crimes committed by members of the military, as well as defend them in court. The show also deals with the personal lives of the lawyers and their families.
JAG was a critical and commercial success, running for 10 seasons and 227 episodes. The show was praised for its realistic depiction of the military legal system and its complex characters. JAG also received numerous awards, including 10 Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
