How to Get on the Jerry Springer Show

Known for its wackiness, the announcer of “The Jerry Springer Show” has frequently said that the show has been voted “The Worst Show on Television.” Surprisingly, it’s not as difficult as you might think to become a guest on the show. Sadly, the show is a testament to the fact that there is virtually no end to the lengths people will go to deceive others (often without remorse). However, it is not necessarily a show without any socially redeeming value.

  • Outgoing personality
  • Ready for revenge
  • Preparation for fisticuffs with other guests

    • 1

Disclosure of secrets and/or getting out of the following types of relationships is the main thrust of the stories that the show’s producers crave. These include fetishes, prostitutes and pimps, cheaters, sex changes, love triangles (and rectangles), coming out of the closet, deceptions, revenge, strippers, female audience members flashing their breasts, sex changes, confrontations with prior guests, family disputes, homosexual and lesbian secrets, incestuous sexual relationships, transsexual confessions and anything else that is totally outrageous. Prior show topics have profiled KKK members, bigots and racists, homeless people, people who are morbidly obese and homebound as a result. The show’s Reverend Shnorr often performs weddings and the renewing of vows ceremonies. Producers occasionally pay a referral fee for leads on stories that result in the booking of a guest (usually $50.00).

Watch some of the Springer shows and visit the “Jerry Springer Show” website. Get familiar with the show’s format. Although fighting with other guests isn’t required by the show’s producers, viewers have come to expect good fist fights between guests.

    • 3

Call the show, talk to the guest relations assistants, and tell them your story and how they can contact other individuals who are involved in the matter.

    • 4

Travel to the show’s Chicago studio taping with the assistance of the producers, who usually pay for guests’ travel expenses (including lodging). You’ll be treated well in exchange for fulfilling your obligation to follow through on your agreement to appear on the show.

    • 5

Appear on the show. Be prepared to tell your story in a clear and concise manner. The show has a very informal format so just relax. There’s no reason to be nervous except for the anticipated fight with other guests.
