According to the American Association of Pediatrics, kids watch an average of half an hour to two hours of music videos daily. This site claims that 75 percent of the material in videos is sexually suggestive and 50 percent is violent. Adolescents' behavior is greatly impacted by the images seen in videos.

    Sexual Promiscuity

    • Many videos are replete with offensive sexual content that teaches adolescents to be promiscuous.

    Sexism

    • Women are depicted as sexual objects in many rap and rock music videos. Young males may resort to treating women as inferior.

    Homicide

    • Rap lyrics often contain content that is violent, and many rap artists glorify homicide. These types of music videos accompanied by pejorative lyrics has a debilitating impact on youth.
