Watch the show on the Fox Network at its scheduled air time. Choose which contestants are your favorite--you can vote for more than one. At the end of each contestant's performance, a toll-free phone number and 4-digit code number will appear at the bottom of the screen. Each contestant is designated their own set of numbers. Write the numbers on a piece of paper. Don't worry if you miss your contestant's numbers--they review each of them at the end of the program.
Dial the toll-free phone number from your home or mobile phone. If a busy signal follows, hang up and call back until you hear a pre-recorded message thanking you for voting for that contestant. This message means that your vote has gone through. Voting begins at the end of the show and is open for two hours. If you call before or after this time window, you will hear a busy signal and will be unable to cast your vote.
Text "VOTE" to the 4-digit code number corresponding to your favorite contestant. This option is only available for viewers with AT&T mobile service on their cell phones, and standard text message rates apply. Your phone may display, "Message not sent," after your attempt. This means that there is a heavy volume of votes and your text couldn't get through. Resend your text until you receive a text message confirming your vote. The confirmation text will only be received after the first valid vote; however, you are able to vote as many times as you wish. The time window still applies for text message votes.
