Famous Infomercial Personalities

We've all been up late at night and seen those infomercials that seem to go on forever, fervently pitching us products to solve problems we may not have known we even had. You find yourself sucked in, and some will pick up the phone and order that rotisserie oven that you'll never use. That was the power that the most famous infomercial personalities had over us. Their catchy sayings and hyper enthusiasm kept our attention glue to the TV well into the night.
  1. Billy Mays

    • Billy Mays was a bearded, denim-shirt wearing powerhouse infomercial salesman. His loud, brash, and energetic pitch helped sell millions of Orange Glow, Oxiclean, and Mighty Putty products just to name a few. His famous opening line, "Hi, Billy Mays here!" delivered in a loud, booming voice made him a household name all over the country. Although he met with an untimely death in 2009, his infomercials and products live on and continue to be aired and sold.

    Ron Popeil

    • Before the uber popularity of Billy Mays, Ron Popeil was the infomercial king. Ron Popeil is also an inventor and has spent that past 40 years developing his products and his pitch. He has pitched everything from the Pocket Fisherman to the Automatic Pasta Maker. Perhaps his most famous product is the Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ, which premiered in 1998. One will never forget the "set it and forget it" line repeated over and over again in the infomercials.

    George Foreman

    • The former heavyweight boxing champion came onto the infomercial scene in 1994, selling the Lean Meat Fat Reducing Grilling Machine, using boxer analogies to get people interested. Today, a George Foreman grill is a very popular household product, and they come in all different shapes and sizes. George Foreman best known line, "knock out the fat!" along with his lovable personality helped make the grilling machines so popular that the company that originally made the grills, later changed their company name to George Foreman Cooking. The line of grills is as popular than ever, and George Formen continues to promote the company's newest products.
