How to Remove the Parental Lock of the Television Channel

Parental locks enable you to control the TV content that your children see on your home set. With the advent of cable TV, television programs and cable-cast films offered by pay-TV providers routinely contain adult content that is not allowed in broadcast media. Parents can password-protect material they find unsuitable for young people's eyes and ears. Removing the lock is a matter of entering the correct password into the television's locking mechanism.

Instructions

  1. Unlock All Channels

      Press the "Settings" button on your remote. Select "General Settings."

      Select "Block: PIN" to change the programming lock.

      Press "OK" or "Select," depending on your TV model.

      Scroll through the list and select "Enable."

      Press "OK" or "Select."

    How to Unblock by Rating

      Press "Settings" until "General Settings" appears on your TV.

      Scroll to "Block: Ratings." Choose from the list of program ratings you wish to unlock. To unlock ratings, highlight the rating by moving the cursor up or down and then press "OK" or "Select."

      Type in your password and press "OK" or "Select." Those ratings will now be unlocked.
