The Cast of Mercy

The TV drama "Mercy" ran for 22 episodes in 2009 and 2010. The show followed the daily lives of three nurses at Jersey City, New Jersey's fictional Mercy Hospital. It had eight main cast members, plus several different recurring characters portraying various hospital staff. The cast included some familiar faces and a few newcomers.
  1. Taylor Schilling

    • Taylor Schilling had top billing as Veronica Callahan. Veronica returned to her job at Mercy Hospital after a tour in Iraq. Schilling, who was born in 1984, made her acting debut in the independent film "Dark Matter." She has also appeared in the films "Atlas Shrugged: Part I" and "The Lucky One."

    Michelle Trachtenberg

    • Michelle Trachtenberg played new nurse Chloe Payne, a recent graduate who was not as jaded with her career as some of the other nurses. Trachtenberg was born in 1985 and starred in her first major movie, "Harriet the Spy," in 1996. She earned wider recognition playing Buffy Summers' little sister Dawn in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." She was part of the "Gossip Girl" cast in the 2010-2011 season.

    Jaime Lee Kirchner

    • Jaime Lee Kirchner portrayed the third main nurse, Sonia Jimenez. Kirchner grew up in Tennessee but was born in Germany. After moving to Los Angeles, Kirchner guest-starred in various television series in 2005. Her first movie role was an uncredited part in the film "Definitely, Maybe."

    James Tupper

    • Dr. Chris Sands, portrayed by James Tupper, joined Mercy Hospital staff at the same time as Veronica returns, which lead to some awkwardness due to a common history. Tupper's first film role came in 2001's "Joe Dirt." He had the starring role as Jack Slattery in the series "Men in Trees" in 2006. Tupper's other credits include "Me and Orson Welles," "Samantha Who?" and "Grey's Anatomy."

    Diego Klattenhoff

    • Diego Klattenhoff starred as Veronica's husband, Mike Callahan. Klattenhoff, a native Canadian, studied acting in Canada before landing several guest-starring roles in television shows. His first major role was in the Lindsay Lohan film "Mean Girls." Klattenhoff also had a role in "Men in Trees." He also had parts on "Whistler," "24" and "Firebird."

    Guillermo Diaz

    • Guillermo Diaz starred as another nurse on staff, Angel Garcia. Diaz appeared in the cult comedy film "Half-Baked" with Dave Chappelle. He also had several guest shots on Chappelle's "Chappelle's Show" on Comedy Central. Diaz has also appeared in films such as "Cop Out" and "Evilution." His television credits include "Weeds" and "No Ordinary Family."

    James LeGros

    • James LeGros was Dr. Dan Harris in "Mercy." He has several independent film roles to his name, such as "Drug Store Cowboy," "My New Gun," and "Thursday." He also appeared in "Zodiac," "Point Break" and "Enemy of the State." He has appeared on television in shows such as "Ally McBeal" and "Law & Order."

    James Van der Beek

    • Van der Beek was in several episodes as Dr. Joe Briggs, the Chief of Medicine for the Mercy ICU. Van der Beek was best known as Dawson Leery on the hit teen drama "Dawson's Creek." Van der Beek appeared in "The Rules of Attraction" and "Ugly Betty" and as himself in the film "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back."
