The Krabby Patty is the most popular item at the Krusty Krab. Its recipe is a guarded secret held by Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob. Sheldon J. Plankton, owner of rival restaurant The Chum Bucket is constantly coming up with ways to discover the Krabby Patty's secret recipe, however he always fails to do so. The ingredients of the Krabby Patty are revealed in the episode "Pickles" and the price of the Krabby Patty seems to change depending on the episode, ranging from $0.99 in "Imitation Krabs" to $2070.33 in "You Don't Know Sponge."
There have been many variations of the Krabby Patty throughout the series, including a Jelly Patty, Pretty Patties, Synthetic Patties, Veggie Patty, a Nasty Patty, the Patty Pal -- which was a toy made out of straws -- and a Krabby Patty for the Kiddy Meal. The size of the Krabby Patty also varies. The Galley Grub has featured sizes such as the Jumbo Small Patty and the Junior Patty.
Besides Krabby Patties, there are many items on the Galley Grub: Coral Bits are the second most popular item, and have appeared in many episodes. However, most items only appear in one episode. Examples of this would be Kelp Rings, Kelp Shake, Footlong, Golden Loaf and Seafoam Soda, all appearing in "Mermaid and Barnacle Boy V."
There are many items that are parodies of real food and brand names. The sodas Dr. Kelp and Diet Dr. are parodies of Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper, and the drink Kelpsi-cola is a parody of Pepsi-cola. Kelp Jerky is a parody of beef jerky and oyster skins are a spoof of potato skins. Seahorseradish is a condiment used on the Nasty Patty and it is a parody of horseradish.
