The Nexus was formed as a stable of young Superstars united to shake up the WWE. Formed from members of the first season of the WWE's television show "NXT," which was a forum for young pro wrestlers to make a name for themselves and win a WWE contract. Nexus is, as of 2011, lead by CM Punk, whose character is a natural-born leader, as other Superstars gravitate to him and look to him for guidance.
The feud could be a power play for CM Punk and Nexus against Vince McMahon and the WWE. Punk prides himself on his moral disdain towards drugs and alcohol, and is a self-proclaimed straight-edge messiah. Punk could use this against Vince and his years of looking the other way towards substance abuse with Superstars. Punk makes a stand to change the WWE in his image.
This could lead to Punk fighting and "injuring" Vince, or several other Superstars, and eventually going after the WWE championship, held by John Cena (as of 2011). Cena's character is a fan-favorite who overcomes the odds no matter what, and would make for a great opponent against Punk and Nexus as he is the heart of the WWE.
The Undertaker is one of the biggest names in pro-wrestling history. His legacy of being one of the most feared and respected personalities in the WWE has lasted over two decades. The Undertaker has beaten them all, and holds an impressive undefeated streak at the "Wrestlemania" pay-per-view.
Sheamus is one of the more interesting characters to enter the WWE in the last decade. Proud of his Irish heritage, Sheamus uses his size and speed to dominate his opponents. Sheamus is always looking for ways to prove himself as the man in the WWE. In less than a year since his debut he won the WWE championship.
The "Undertaker" is nearing the end of his career, and a feud with a young, bull-like "Sheamus" could be huge for both men: The Undertaker wanting to put Sheamus in his place and prove that he can still go against a younger and stronger opponent, and Sheamus wanting to prove how dominate he can be by putting a legend like the Undertaker out of the WWE.
Like the Undertaker, Triple H is also nearing the end of his career. Triple H's success in the WWE is legendary, as he's won every title in the WWE. Triple H is always a controversial figure, and is a founding member of the counterculture stable known as D-Generation X.
The Miz is also known for being controversial. Using his minor television fame from being on the 10th season of MTV's "Real World," Mike Mizanin would take on The Miz persona and try out for the WWE via the Tough Enough competition. The Miz is as egotistical as they come, and has crawled up the ranks and is a former WWE champion.
A feud between Triple H and The Miz would be controversial and a game of them trying to one-up the other. The Miz would look at retiring Triple H as just another reason why he is awesome. Triple H would want to show The Miz that he's no one's stepping stone.
The first season of "NXT" featured several up-and-coming pro wrestlers looking to become the next WWE Superstar. British-born Wade Barrett would go on to win "NXT." Large and charismatic, Wade Barrett saw an opportunity and formed the Nexus stable uniting all the losers of "NXT" season one. Daniel Bryan, an exciting technical wrestler, was one of these losers, but was soon fired from the WWE before he could do any serious damage with Nexus.
Daniel Bryan would return to the WWE and join the fight against his former Nexus stable-mates at the 2010 "Summerslam" pay-per-view. Barrett and Bryan would go on separate paths, but both Superstars gained success as Barrett would become an Intercontinental Champion and Bryan would become the U.S. Champion. Both Superstars have been in the WWE for a little over a year, and a feud between these two could set the stage for the future of the WWE main-event scene.
