- A Philips head screwdriver
- A flat-head screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
1. Disconnect the battery. This is important to do to avoid any electrical shocks.
2. Remove the four screws that hold the radio in place. These screws are located on the front of the radio, two on each side.
3. Pull the radio out of the dash. Be careful not to damage the wiring or the radio.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio. There is one large connector and two smaller connectors.
5. Remove the radio from the car.
Here are some additional tips for removing a stock radio from a VS Commodore:
- If you have trouble removing the screws, use a penetrating oil to loosen them.
- If the radio is stuck in the dash, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out.
- Be careful not to damage the wiring or the radio when disconnecting the wiring harness.
