When did flat screen tvs come out?

Flat-screen televisions first came out in 1997, when Pioneer introduced the first plasma display panel (PDP) television. Later, in 2004, Samsung introduced the first liquid crystal display (LCD) television. Since then, flat-screen televisions have become increasingly popular and have replaced traditional cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions.
