Did Ginny Weasley open the Chamber of Secrets?

Ginny Weasley did not open the Chamber of Secrets. Tom Riddle, who would later become Lord Voldemort, opened the Chamber of Secrets during his time at Hogwarts. He used the basilisk that lived in the Chamber to kill several Muggle-born students. Ginny was a victim of Tom Riddle's actions, as he possessed her and used her to do his bidding.
