Why did Harry Potters aunt and uncle leave in Potter the Deathly Hallows part 1?

Petunia and Vernon Dursley don't leave in *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1*. They stay at Privet Drive until the end of the book, when they are whisked away by the Ministry of Magic to protect them from Voldemort.
