How long has the newsboys been around?
Newsboys have existed for over 200 years. The first recorded instance of newsboys was in the early 1800s in London, where they sold newspapers on the streets. Newsboys were often young boys, some as young as 6 or 7 years old, who sold newspapers to support their families. They would shout out headlines to attract customers and often worked long hours, in all weather conditions. Newsboys were an important part of the newspaper industry until the early 20th century when home delivery and other distribution methods became more common.
