Start with Black. Begin your script by writing "Black" at the top of the page. This indicates the screen is black.
Add your first static shot. The next line will either say "Fade in" or "Cut to" the graphic of the first letter. A graphic in a script is written "GC: Letter A." You can list several graphics of the letter A in a row. Each graphic should be little different to keep the interest of the viewer while the letter is repeated.
Insert a voiceover. The next line of the script should read "VO: A." This indicates there should be audio of a person saying the letter as it appears on screen. Each voice over line should be listed directly under the cue for the graphic.
Include an action sequence. In parenthesis list any activity that will appear on the screen, along with the symbols for what the shot will look like. For example: (CU:(close up) an apple rolls into view. It is picked up and a bite is taken out of it.)
The action of the apple helps for a more comprehensive understanding of what the letter A does. It also helps to keep the interest of the viewer.
Repeat the above instructions for the rest of the script. Each letter should be a separate scene. Each scene should include graphics with voice-overs and an action sequence.
