Open a blank document in a word processing program. Choose a bold, easy to read font. At the very top of the page write your name. Center this line and make it both bold and larger than the rest of the font that will be on the page. On the line directly below your name write your union affiliations such as SAG, AFTRA and AGMA. If you have no union affiliations, leave this line blank. Skip a few lines.
Enter your agent and manager's information. Include their logos first and then contact information underneath. If you do not have an agent or manager, enter your phone number, mailing address (not your home address if possible) and email address. If you are a child or under the age of 18, also include your date of birth. If you are over 18, do not include any information about your age. All of this should be centered on the page unless you have both an agent and manager, in which case put your agent's information on the left side of the page and your manager's on the right of the page. Skip down two lines.
Type "Film," in bold lettering with an underline. Skip one line and enter in all your film credits. Use a three column approach. List the name of the film on the left in quotes, the role you played in the center with the word "lead," "supporting," "under five" or "featured." Then in the far right column list the director's name and production company. If you have no film credits skip this.
Repeat Step 3 in the next section a couple lines down, but with "Television." The only difference is the part descriptions; they should read "series regular," "co-star," "guest star," "recurring" or "featured." If you have no television credits, skip this section. Skip a couple more lines.
Start the "Commercials" section. Again this is the three column format or you can write "list upon request" so that you don't have to list conflicts. Skip a couple more lines and do the "Theater" section. Skip a couple more lines.
List "Education." Fill in all the schools (high school, college, trade school) that you have attended; if you achieved a degree list that as well. Skip another line and list "Training." In this section list all the classes you have taken for dance, acting, singing, voice-overs and special skills or hobbies. List the facility or teacher, type of training and years studied.
Write "Special Skills" one more line down. List all your special skills, sports you play, languages you speak, accents you can do, tricks, stunts and other unusual things you are capable of. Only list things that you are at least proficient in, not just a beginner and can barely do at all. You may be asked to do any of these things at an audition.
Print out your resume and staple it to the back of your head shot.
