Call 818-562-2755 or check centralcasting.org to find out which days Central Casting hold non-union registration. Even though you have already registered, you need to go during the registration time to update your photo. Non-union registration is normally held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but double check as this may change. You do not need an appointment.
Choose an outfit. Your clothing should fit your general casting type without being too specific. If you tend to look young on camera, wear clothes that market you as a teenager or college student. Solid colors are best, and dark or muted colors are preferred. Avoid white and black, as well as any busy or bright patterns (these are not camera-friendly). Make sure all your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free.
Wear your planned outfit, and make yourself "camera ready" on the day of your photo update. For women, this includes hair styling and makeup application to suit your casting type. For men, this includes hair styling and shaving or facial hair grooming. While you will have time to reapply your lipstick at Central Casting, you will not have a place to change, or access to a mirror.
Drive or take public transportation to Central Casting at 220 South Flower Street, Burbank, Calif., 91502-2101. Arrive early and find street parking. Once inside, wait until you are asked to line up. Be patient as you wait your turn. Tell them you are there for a photo update, and be sure to smile for your picture.
