How to Contact Actors for Interviews

Writing for a local entertainment publication, seeking an on-air discussion, or looking for basic facts about an actor are best facilitated with an interview. Contacting an actor for an interview can be done in a variety of ways depending on his level of fame or openness to being contacted. Social networking, agents, and websites are all paths of communication to reach the actor that you would like to interview.

Instructions

    • 1

Search for the actor on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) website (imdb.com). Type the actor's name in the search box and click "Go." Select the "Contact Info" link. This may be the actor, his agent or manager. Use this contact information to request an interview from the actor.

    • 2

Seek out the actor on a social networking site, such as Facebook or MySpace. Some actors, or their agents and managers, are very open to being contacted directly via these sites.

    • 3

Contact the studio at which the actor is currently working. Some studios provide physical addresses, email addresses, and even phone numbers for their actors. The contact information may go directly to the actor or to the actor's agent or manager. Use this contact information to reach the actor for an interview. Visit the contact or fan page of a studio website, as these will often provide contact information that can be used to obtain an interview.

    • 4

Visit the actor's webpage. If you are unsure if one exists, use a search engine such as Google or Bing to seek out the page. Existing pages for actors will often show at the top of the search results. These pages often use the actor's name as the domain. For example, if the actor's name is "John Smith", the page domain could be "JohnSmith.com."
