Was regular show supposed to be on adult swim?

Regular Show was not supposed to be on Adult Swim. It was originally pitched to Cartoon Network and was intended for their regular programming, not the more adult-oriented Adult Swim.

While it did contain some adult humor and references, it wasn't considered mature enough for Adult Swim's target audience. The show's creators, J.G. Quintel and Ben Bocquelet, envisioned it as a show for all ages, and it ultimately found its home on Cartoon Network.
