Anthony Dawson is perhaps most famous for his starring role in Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film "Dial M for Murder" as Captain Lesgate, a victim of blackmail who is forced to murder his wife. However, he also starred in the inaugural film of the Bond franchise, "Dr. No" as henchman Professor Dent. He also appears as the body -- but not the voice -- of perennial Bond villain Ernst Blofeld in "From Russia with Love" and "Thunderball."
The monocled, cat-owning villain Ernst Blofeld made many appearances throughout the years of the Bond film franchise, and was played by several different actors. His turn in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" featured Telly Savalas in the role. Before this film, however, Savalas starred in the Alfred Hitchcock mystery "A Matter of Murder," part of the second season of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour." Savalas played the minor role of Philadelphia Harry.
Roger Moore's second performance as James Bond was in "The Man With The Golden Gun," in which he squared off against freelance assassin Francisco Scaramanga, played by Christopher Lee. Scaramanga was famous for considering himself to be a mirror image of Bond, and being one of Bond's more polite villains. Before this role, Lee also appeared in the second season of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" in "The Sign of Satan." In this short film, Lee played the supporting role of Karl Jorla.
In 1947, Louis Jourdan appeared in one of Alfred Hitchcock's earliest Hollywood films when he played the role of the valet Andre Latour in "The Paradine Case," a drama starring Gregory Peck. Many years later, he would go on to play the role of international jewel thief Prince Kamal Khan in the 1983 Roger Moore Bond film "Octopussy."
