Why the Disney movie The Gremlins made?

Disney did not produce or release a movie called "The Gremlins." The popular 1984 horror comedy film "Gremlins" was actually written by Chris Columbus and produced by Steven Spielberg. It was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
