Aliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001) was an American singer, songwriter, actress and model. She is best known for her hit singles "Try Again", "Are You That Somebody?" and "Rock the Boat". Aliyah died in a plane crash en route to The Bahamas, where she was scheduled to film a music video for her next single, "Rock the Boat".
