Go to a theater in conjunction with another tour. If you visit the theater while visiting the tourist attraction, the movie will be free or discounted. For example, the Science Centre and Ontario Place in Ontario, Canada have IMAX theaters as part of their tourist package.
Watch drive in movies. Go to the drive in and pay a set fee and see all the movies available for one set price. You're paying for the first movie and the rest are free. You can also watch the movie from the outside of the show if you park on the street nearby instead of entering the drive in theater.
See if your town has an outdoor movie theater. Some parks and universities offer free movies outside in the summer time at outdoor movie theaters. You don't drive in with your car but watch on chairs instead.
Get new release tickets. When movies are first released several tickets are given away free. Check your local radio stations for contests and give aways.
Check a dollar theater or discount theater for cheap tickets that may include free shows. When movies are almost done their time in a city, these theaters pick them up and offer discounted prices that can include paying for one movie and having another free.
Find a two for one deal. With this deal, you pay for the first ticket and receive the second one free. Check your local movie theaters for specials like these. You may see specials around Christmas time.
Write a movie review. Contact your local newspaper to see if they have a movie reviewer. Or check your local movie theater. Some theaters offer you a chance to win free tickets for writing movie reviews and posting the review on their website.
