A year after Mary-Kate and Ashley's birth, the girls were chosen to play the single role of Michelle Tanner on "Full House," which debuted in 1987.
Mary-Kate and Ashley's fame has spawned cosmetics lines, fragrances such as Tokyo Fusion and Soho Chic Perfume, as well as the popular Free Spirit clothing line for young ladies.
The twins have spent plenty of time on prime-time TV. Ashley Olsen grabbed a part in the popular series "7th Heaven," and both appeared in "So Little Time" in 2001.
After "Full House," the girls moved on to hit movies such as "It Takes Two" and "New York Minute." The girls also have starred in separate films, such as "Factory Girl," with Mary-Kate.
David and Jarnette Olsen have separated since daughters Mary-Kate and Ashley were born, but the twins still have plenty of siblings. Their mother retains custody of their older brother Trent and little sister Lizzie while their father has since had two children, Taylor and Jake, from another relationship.
