Build a display shelf made of finished wood, wrought iron, colorfully painted fruit crates or even old DVD cases. If you don't have carpentry skills, use wood glue or tie shelves together with twine. The advantage of using DVD cases is that they are much lighter than they look.
Select movies to display on your wall. Pick several of the same genre to go together, or just choose your favorites. Mount them to the wall in neat geometric patterns or artistically space them.
Choose one title for prominent display by mounting it on the wall and hanging reproduction props from the movie next to it. If you want to go all out, try to purchase actual props from that movie.
Hang other items from the time period about which the movie was made, re-creating the atmosphere of the movie.
Displaying your movies nicely can be as simple as arranging them by color. It may make it harder to find a particular movie in your collection, but the rainbow is eye candy and creates a sense of organization.
As they are discarded, get posters advertising the movie from theaters or movie stores. Hang these on your wall with a copy of the movie mounted next to it.
Write to the company producing the movie to see if you can get actor or movie posters to hang next to your film.
Mount movie cases to empty picture frames and set them up on a shelf or mantel. You may have to glue the movie cases to the frame backing.
