Write the script for your still frame movie using a notebook or word processing program. Include any action, dialogue, characters and other important scenes or elements to your story in the script. Organize all scenes for this script in the manner that you would like them to be presented in the finished movie. Outline key actions from each scene in your movie using notebook paper or a storyboard.
Assemble still photographs and any other supporting media that will be used to bring your screenplay to life based on the script outline. Determine if you will make a still frame movie that also features narration, graphics, music or all of these elements combined. Take photographs that depict each action or scene listed on your outline using a 35mm or digital still camera. Create any titles and other graphics needed for your still frame movie using photo editing software on a computer. Save the titles as transparent GIF, PNG, TIFF or PSD files if you plan to display them simultaneously with still photographs during the movie.
Record any narration and music needed for your movie at a professional audio studio as an MP3 file. Purchase royalty free music that can be used in the movie.
Import all still photographs, graphics and MP3 files containing narration and music into a video editing program. Add the background music files for your movie to the timeline. Repeat this step with a graphic that includes the movie title. Add all still photographs to the timeline in the order they appear on your written outline. Adjust the duration these images appear in your preview monitor using trimming tools or related features in the editing program. Make adjustments based on how you want the finished still frame movie to appear in conjunction with your background music.
Add any desired graphics, transitions and other special effects to your image files on the timeline. Use the text editor to display credits if desired and then render your timeline. Play the timeline to make sure that all elements are displayed in the preview monitor to your satisfaction. Export the timeline as a video file and save it to your computer or DVD-R.
